1-2 for Mid Shropshire Wheelers as Kirk Vickers wins the category 2/3/4 race on a busy night of circuit racing at Shrewsbury Sports Village on 24th July

Despite posting the fastest lap of the night, Velocity’s Jack Escritt had to take a back seat in the final sprint of the Senior and Junior event to the promoting Mid Shropshire Wheelers clubs duo of Kirk Vickers and Courtney Ricketts in 1st and 2nd with Escritt in 3rd.

In the last event of the summer of circuit races at the Shrewsbury Sports Village two large fields bookended a small field for the Youth A & B race due to lots of British Cycling coaching events taking place. The race was won in convincing style by Devon Round of Mid Shropshire Wheelers.

A fantastic turnout for the under 12s, 10s and 8s was a great reward for the clubs coaches with plenty of podiums across the categories and a warm up Go Tour event preceding it. Rebecca Woodvine took yet another under 8 girls win with the rest of the Mid Shropshire Wheelers stepping up on the night, no doubt doing it for club coach George who came to support after a short stay in hospital. What a tonic!
