A warm mistral blew through the Yorksport closed road circuit on Tuesday night which greeted the riders for the second instalments of the races. First up was a women’s only race of eleven starters including a Youth A and Junior rider. The race was handicapped to give everyone a chance(and a good workout).

The first group of riders were soon caught and passed by Iona Sewell and Brit Tate of GB Cycles who literally time trialled their way through the 30 minute race. In the end, Brit Tate got the better of Iona Sewell in the sprint with Victoria Hood of Team Jaden getting the spoils of the rest.

Next up, the 2,3,4 men took to the field with an almost immediate attack from the brilliant Youth A rider Rob Gray of Clifton CC. With three further riders quickly joining him. This group of four quickly built up an impressive lead and almost catching a less than happy peloton. With five laps to go, the four leaders slowed dramatically and began looking at each other. On taking the bell, there were few digs with a rampaging Rob Gray improving on last week’s second place with a well deserved and triumphant win ahead of three very good riders.
