Something for everyone in Raleigh’s 2015 cyclo-cross range with the headlining bike, the RX team carbon model (£3,500) encompassing lots of the best of everything including SRAM Force components, hydraulic disc brakes and a single chain ring. And it looks the business!
The range which boasts four new models with the entry level bike priced at £800, comprises of five models with two carbon and three alloy frames. The RX Team (Carbon), RX Pro (alloy) and RX Comp (alloy) bikes come with disc brakes. The Team and Pro are hydraulic (SRAM Force and Rival respectively) whilst the Comp model’s discs are cable operated.
Like every model in the Raleigh range, each one comes in a specific colour. The Team for example has the same finish as the Militis Team bike the Raleigh riders are racing on around the country and beyond. Here is a guide:
RX Team (carbon): Velvet touch red – SRAM Force (11-28 11 speed), Cole wheels, 33mm tubulars, discs
RX Race: (carbon): Black with orange decals. SRAM Apex, canti brakes, Cole wheels,
RX Pro: (alloy): Orange with black decals, SRAM Rival 11 speed, Cole wheels
RX Comp (Alloy): gloss red with white decals, SRAM Apex gearing, discs, Wheels RSP
RX Elite (Alloy): blue with white decals, Shimano Sora with Canti brakes and RSP wheelset
The alloy frames also have rack and mud guard mounts and the Elite (entry level bike) has a second set of brake levers for when riding on the tops as well. The new frames say Raleigh in their brochure, are lighter and stiffer than last year and in some cases, bikes are cheaper (or better spec’d) as well like so many of the bikes in the 2015 Raleigh range.
With the cross season round the corner, maybe time to have a look at the 2015 models which should be available soon from Raleigh and their dealers.
