Having announced the signing of double Olympic cycling champion, Laura Trott OBE rcently, the team are very proud to announce the signing of four riders to the team for 2015.
Team GB rider from London 2012, Lucy Martin, will join the team with effect from 1 January adding huge experience to the young team as it looks to enter it’s first year in the professional peloton. Although still only 24, Lucy has spent 4 years in the professional peloton, and will join a British team for the first time.
Lucy (above) commented on signing for Matrix Fitness, “I am really exited to be joining a British UCI team. After being in various international teams for the last four years it will be a welcome change to be surrounded by British riders and staff. I have been impressed with the set up so far, it looks very promising and it’s great to have a new UCI team in the women’s peloton for 2015.â€
“It’s a great opportunity to be in a team that’s helping to develop women’s cycling within Britain. Having a British UCI team is providing an essential link between the domestic scene and international races so I’m thrilled to be a part of it. I’m also looking forward to riding alongside Laura Trott the newly crowned national champion, we haven’t raced in the same road team before. So I’m already looking forwards to 2015.â€
Joining Lucy and Laura on the team will be Molly Weaver. Having spent the 2014 season in the UK racing for the Epic – Scott team, Molly is taking her first steps into a professional team with Matrix Fitness. “Molly has huge potential and she’s proved that consistently over the past two seasons. When she raced in Europe she seamlessly stepped up to a higher level of competition and I can’t wait to see her making even more progress in the pro peloton†commented team manager Stefan Wyman.
Molly said “I’m really excited to be joining the Matrix Fitness team. It’s a great chance to progress and develop and I can’t wait to take the step up and ride in a professional team for the first time. I’m ready to work hard and make the most of this opportunity.â€

As well as the two new signings, the team can confirm the extension of contract of two of its existing riders. Jessie Walker and Mel Lowther will both be staying with the team after stand out seasons. Mel, who completed The Womens Tour in 2014 as a Junior will be finishing this season at the Junior World Championships. “Mel has performed at the highest level in European Junior racing this season and is a constant threat already at elite level. We see her as one of the most exciting talents to come out the UK and are really proud she’s staying with us†comments Stefan.
Jessie Walker will be entering her fourth season with the team. A top ten stage result at the Tour of Brittany this year, backed up outstanding performances at the National Championships and the Women’s Tour. “Jessie shows exactly what this team is about. She deserves this opportunity to race in the professional peloton and everyone at the team has no doubt she’ll develop into one of the countries leading riders over the coming seasons. It’s great she’ll be doing that in our jersey.â€
