Ridley, Lazer and Shimano are the proud sponsors of the third round of the UCI Cyclocross World Cup to be held on 29th November 2014 in Milton Keynes, it has been announced today.
Ridley, the world’s foremost cyclocross bike brand is the ‘Presenting Partner’ of the round with leading helmet brand Lazer coming in as ‘Supporting Partner’. The round will see the best cyclocross riders in the world descend on British soil for a round of the UCI Cyclocross World Cup, for the first time.
One of the teams riding Ridley at the World Cup will be Hargroves Cycles Racing Team
There will be a host of competitions and deals on offer from Ridley and Lazer throughout the event for riders and spectators. Shimano, sponsors of the entire World Cup will also be present with its tech truck, providing technical support for the teams and riders.
Up to now, rounds of the Cyclocross World Cup have only ever been held on mainland Europe but British fans will now be able to watch their heroes from across the globe race on the unique city-centre park venue in Milton Keynes. Former British Cyclocrosss Champions, Ian Field of Hargroves Cycles/Ridley RT and Nikki Harris of Telenet Fidea will both be battling it out on Ridley bikes and wearing Lazer helmets.
Simon Burney, Event Director for the UCI Cyclocross World Cup said: “We are delighted that Madison and Sportline have come on board to sponsor the event in their home town with two such iconic cyclocross brands. Both Ridley and Lazer have such a strong presence in cyclocross that it’s great they want to be involved as the sport takes another step forward with a World Cup in a new market”.
“Having both British stars at the event riding Ridley and wearing Lazer this season is the icing on the cake.â€
Kellie Parsons, Marketing Director at Madison and Sportline added: “It is fantastic to see a round of the Cyclocross World Cup come to the UK for the first time and sponsoring it with Ridley, Shimano and Lazer, brands with such strong heritage in the sport, was a perfect fit. There will be competitions, giveaways and special deals from all the brands for riders and spectators to enjoy”.
“We look forward to seeing a big crowd in Madison and Sportline’s hometown.â€
Ridley is distributed exclusively in the UK and Ireland by Sportline. Shimano and Lazer are both distributed by Madison in the UK and Ireland.
