Owain Doull (podium programme?), Scott Davies and new signing for a pro team, Dan McLay.

Current world champion Katie Archibald (women’s endurance) graduates on to the Podium programme, as does Kyle Evans, Tre Whyte (BMX) and Grant Ferguson (mountain bike). Technical director Shane Sutton said: “British Cycling’s Olympic Academy Programme has a solid reputation of producing world-class champions and I believe the current intake will continue to deliver on this trend”.

“We have a strong core of riders who enter their second year of the programme and are already performing at a high level, the standout example being Danni Khan winning a bronze medal in the team sprint at a world cup event. I’m pleased to see a number of ODP graduates step up a level on the performance pathway, but equally it’s good to see some new faces in the mix – we are constantly striving for excellence and the door remains open for talented young cyclists across all disciplines.”

“The women’s endurance Academy programme based in Newport, Wales, continues to grow in numbers as does the men’s and this will help accommodate the track and road ambitions of our riders and means we can offer more support to those who wish to focus purely on the road in their future years. Overall, I think we’re in a healthy position across the board to achieve our aspirations for Rio and beyond.”
