Tennant, who is rumoured to be riding for the new Sky Development team next year as he looks to be part of the Rio 2016 Team Pursuit team after being left on the bench in London, won the Individual Pursuit almost ten years after winning the Junior World title in Austria.

Scotland’s Skinner meanwhile, who dominated the British Track Championships recently, put the disappointment of the Sprint and Team Sprint results behind him to win the Kilometre Gold. There was also a Silver medal for Jon Dibben in the Men’s Omnium after having been in third, two points adrift of Silver overnight.

Jon was 12th in the Kilo and then seventh in the Flying Lap but in the hardest event of all, the Points, Dibben pulled the stops out and piled up the points to drag himself up the ladder into second place behind Sky’s new signing, Elia Viviani.

In the Women’s events, like Dibben in the Men’s on day 1 of his Omnium, Trott finished her first day in the Women’s Omnium in third place after two fourth places and a win (Elimination race). In the Women’s 500 metre TT, Katy Marchant was 11th and Rosie Blount 12.
