Ben Davis wins series whilst Pettinger & Norledge win final two rounds of the WTTA Hill Climb Series last weekend

On Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th the final 2 rounds of the WTTA Hill Climb Series went ahead in Blustery damp conditions on the Mendips. Saturdays event went up Westclose which was used as the Nationals course in 2000. The event run by Team Tor 2000 was won by Joe Norledge – Pro Cycling. Christina Gyles – Bristol South CC won the Ladies event and Harry Luxton – Rutrainingtoday CC won the Junior Category. Adrian Lawson – Cadence RT once again won the Vets category.

Sundays event turned to Burrington Combe on the Mendips organised by Bristol South CC with a staggering 111 entries. This 2 mile climb at 6% ave gradient suited the time triallers and so it showed with Tejvan Pettinger showing the field why he is current National Hill Climb Champion and nearly breaking his own course record with a staggering 06.57.8 mins. Harry Luxton and Adrian Lawson carried their form from the previous days event and won their categories. Julie Marazzi – Somer Valley CC won the Ladies event.

So after all the scores for the series were added up

— Ben Davis was crowned KING OF THE HILLS
— Christina Gyles was crowned QUEEN OF THE HILLS
— Adrian Lawson won the Veteran Category
— George Jones won the Junior Category
— Bristol South CC riders Rob Borek, Dan Alford and Christina Gyles won the team prize
