Minoura Live Training is an app developed in Japan alongside Soneru and is designed to provide an accurate power reading system compatible with any Minoura Live ride trainer and can cost as little as £199.99 for the LR340 trainer (below) which is Live Training compatible.
You can still use the trainer as just a normal portable mag trainer but if you want all the fantastic course simulation or interval training functions with power or just general speed, cadence, HR and Power read out on your Smart phone, then Live Training really is an affordable POWER option and very accessible for everyone with a smart phone.
Also, all those people that already have a Minoura V130, V150 or V270 trainer can easily upgrade to Power for just the price of the App and Sensors providing they already have a third party Cateye. For example, ANT+ or Bluetooth sensor or built in Trek Speedtrap or Giant Ridesense integrated ANT +/BLE sensors it can be as little as £7 to gain accurate (+/- 5%) power wattage readings.
The app is also Bluetooth compatible so if your smart phone or tablet has integrated BLE it will pick up data from Bluetooth devices on your body/bike.
To give you an idea of costs,
– the LR340 is £199.99
– the Live Training App costs £6.99 from i-tunes,
– the sensors are roughly £50 for Sp/Cad and £50 for HRM
— (BLE or ANT+), the Wahoo dongle (to receive ANT+ signal to i-phone or i-pad) costs £50.00.
