News – Raleigh’s Kneisky Wins World Title

The Frenchman, along with partner Brian Coquard, pulled off a brilliant win in Paris to give Morgan his third World Track Championship title.

The whole team cheered him on from their winter training camp in Spain as Morgan and Brian sealed the rainbow jersey in a thrilling final.

Morgan said afterwards “We fulfilled our goal and we had fun in front of our fans which makes us extremely happy! Every year there is a big chance for a medal. This year, the selection was not easy to make and were one of four teams who could have been world champions. Bryan and I have experience especially in the Six-Day and we worked well together.”

Team Principal Cherie Pridham said: “The whole of Team Raleigh GAC watched Morgan and Brian ride the most superb race. I’m absolutely delighted, and extremely proud, that Morgan fulfilled his dream of being World Track Champion for the third time. I know it has been an ambition that he has been working hard for and we all believed 100% that he could win.”

The 27-year-old, who also raced for Team Raleigh GAC last year, previously took world titles in 2009 and 2013. The result on the boards at the Vélodrome de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines will flow straight into the 2015 season for which he will be based in Derby at the Birchover Hotel Apartments.

Cherie said: “I can’t wait to see Morgan on the boards at the new Derby Arena in his World Champion’s jersey. “Having a World Champion in the city, in the year that the velodrome track opens, is fantastic.”
