News – Madison Genesis Debut at Normandy

Madison Genesis had a fantastic season in 2014, with multiple victories and impressive performances on the world stage. The team is proud to kick-off the 2015 season with the announcement that their first race will be at the esteemed Tour of Normandie.

For the first time, the Madison Genesis team will take on the week-long stage race in France from 23rd-29th March. The race is known for strong winds with riders fighting for position for the inevitable echelons; conditions Team Manager Roger Hammond used to excel in.

Erick Rowsell, in his first appearance for Madison Genesis will be returning to the 35th edition of the race in which he won a stage in 2012 and also finished 7th on GC. Tom Scully also returns to the race where he won the prologue, the opening time trial over 3.5km, in 2013.

Roger Hammond, Team Manager said of the invitation “I’m really pleased we have been selected to ride the Tour of Normandie. It is a great race with great heritage, so the fact that Madison Genesis has been selected to compete is confirmation of the international respect the team has earned over the past couple of years”.

“The riders are very motivated to perform well in Normandie and with Tom and Erick having both enjoyed success there in the past, we cannot wait to get going.”

The Tour of Normandie starts on 23rd March in Le Calvados and ends in Caen on 29th March. Follow Madison Genesis @madisongenesis for updates and visit www.madisongenesis.co.uk for race reports and news.

The race will provide the perfect warm-up for the first Prem of the season, the Chorley Grand Prix.
