News – Joshua Edmondson Joins An Post

At Sky Joshua Edmondson enjoyed a successful time with the team but without truly living up to his potential. He is young and wants to fight back after missing out a new contract. Edmondson, who played an important part in both Sir Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome’s Tour de France preparation, has signed a one year deal with our team and he insists he is not concerned about the step down from professional cycling’s top tier.

Edmondson talks: “I got in touch with the team through speaking with Kurt Bogaerts and deciding together that the team would suit me. I’m very exciting about the coming season. I want to continue to learn this year and work on managing myself as an athlete. After a couple of years playing a team role at Sky, I’m looking forward to racing aggressively and perhaps being able to race more in a style that suits me.”

About his current form, Joshua told us the following: “I built a lot of strength and a good base training and racing in Australia with the national team. In general, I’ve worked very hard this winter and I feel like it is starting to pay off. I’m looking forward to the coming races and building further on my form!”

Manager Kurt Bogaerts is delighted: “With Edmondson we have an extra rider with some additional qualities that we were missing. We are very proud and know that Josh will fit right in! A talented rider like him is the perfect guy for our team!”
