Report & Results – Saighton Road Race

An early break of six riders established after only 10 miles at the Saighton circuit in Cheshire, containing Fidler, Ryan Ellis (Albarosa CC), Kristian Zentek (Team Chronomaster), Richard Wilkinson (Audlem CC), Andrew Martin (Champion System VCUK RT) & Mark Dziobon (Velo Club UK) . The calm but cold weather conditions presented perfect opportunity for a fast 56mile race with the break working having to work incredibly hard to stay away.

Saighton

Despite an en-masse attempt to pull back from the riders of the promoting club, Chester RC, the break of 6 managed to stay clear until the last lap. During the final few miles a further break containing 6 riders, two of which were Juniors, bridged to create a 12-man Sprint for the line. Fidler managed to take the win by three bike lengths from his breakaway companion Ellis with Adam Hartley (VCUK PH-MAS Junior RT) taking an impressive third and 1st Junior.

Thanks to all the Riders, Officials, Marshalls & Volunteers for providing a safe and excellent exhibit of 2/3/4 racing today.
