Team Raleigh GAC is delighted to announce that it will be racing the inaugural Tour de Yorkshire.

Team News – Raleigh’s Yorkshire Delight

Originally the organisers of the race, ASO, who run the Tour de France, omitted the team along
with fellow British outfit JLT-Condor.

That decision caused a good deal of confusion from British fans who were disappointed by the
news that Team Raleigh GAC would not feature in the race.

The team’s social media profiles were overrun with messages of support and it showed just how
well-loved the team is. However, yesterday it was announced that both teams would be invited to race alongside some of the biggest teams in the world including Team Sky, BMC Racing Team and Team Giant-Alpecin.

Team principal, Cherie Pridham, said: “I am delighted that Team Raleigh GAC will be part of what I’m sure will be a fantastic event. “We saw how the British public came out to support last year’s Grand Depart in Yorkshire, I’m sure that we will see similar scenes this year and I would like to thank the organisers for giving us the chance to be part of that.

“I know the riders, staff and sponsors are going to be incredibly motivated for this and we will make sure we do our part to make it a race to remember. “I would also like to say a personal thank you to the fans that have shown us great to support in the past week and we can’t wait to see you all out on the road.”
