The course is 39.5 miles and took in two loops with the hardest circuit being the 20 mile loop which takes in the climbs of Stanford Bank & Ankerdine.

The series has been hotly contested this season and its was going to be a great battle between the riders taking part it was once again, Joshua Williams Revolutions Racing 01:34:08 who would set the standard for others to follow but nobody would dislodge the youngster.

The battle for the other podium places would be close between former National hill climb champion Tejvan Pettinger (Sri Chinmoy Cycling Team) 01:35:22 and former circuit series winner Dean Robson (Cheltenham & County CC) 01:35:39 with Pettinger taking the out come.

But it was Matthew Bottrill (drag2zero.com) who was on a mission to break the 10 year old record of Stuart Dangerfield, 01:34:05. It was soon evident after the first lap that the record was under threat with a 29mph ride. But the speed would drop with the major climbs but this would do nothing to stop Bottrill, taking the win and the record with a 1:36 smashing!

After the presentation, Matt said of his ride “That hurt today! I came into the race quite tired after a hard weeks training and I could tell after the first climb, it was going to be a hard day’s racing but I wanted to give it everything I had. So to take course record is really pleasing. Dangerfield, was at the peak of his career when he set this so its a really positive out come”.
