News – Number 10 for Bottrill
On Saturday afternoon, 140 riders gathered in the small village of Etwal, Derbyshire to take part in the South Pennine RC 25 mile time trial. The course is renowned for fast time’s but with high winds and high air pressure, it was hardly going to be a day for getting personal best!

The raced kicked off at 2pm, and it was soon evident, that is was going to be a slog to the half way point then fast on the way back. But even on the return, it was going to be a really hard battle.

It was National 100 mile champion Charles Taylor – South Pennine who set the standard with 50:36 and this time stood well until in form Matthew Sinclair- Lutterworth Cycle Centre, lowered this to 49:34. Then final podium place was filled by Andrew Jackson – Team Swift 49:37

With the final riders all home, this just left the way for Matthew Bottrill of drag2zero.com. Bottrill did not disappoint and and covered the course in a time of 47:31, for win number 10 of 2015. Bottrill commented on his ride saying “It was windy out there today and I basically road to the turn like it was a 10 mile time trial, then did what I could on the return leg. After a really solid weeks training I’m defiantly starting to feel much stronger and looking forward to the build up towards the men’s National 50 and British TT championships”.
