Elite MensÂ
Within one lap of the 82 mile race 4 riders had escaped the chasing peloton gaining a 45 second advantage. Within a further lap the break had reduced to three riders; Peter Barusevicus (All Terrain Cycles), Adam Duggleby and Richard Hepworth both of (Sportgrub Kuota).
Despite attacks from the likes of Tom Stewart, Connor Swift and Jake Tanner the peloton failed to form any organised chase and the leading trio gradually extended their lead which would peak at 4 min 37 secs.
Passing through the start – finish line with two laps to go a group of 9 riders had managed to gain some advantage over the peloton began to pull some time back bringing the gap to 2 mins 11 secs as the peloton began to split around 1 minute further back.
Coming into the bell lap the two Kuoto riders dropped Barusevicus and still had a 2 minute gap over the chasing 9 riders, and held to gap to 1 minute as the pair approached the finish line to sprint it our for the win. Finally after 82 miles of racing it was Adam Duggleby beating his teammate in a photo finish.
