Paul Gamlin is fastest with a 1.47.36 in the Finsbury Park CC Open 50 mile time trial on the F1B/50

A disappointing entry of only 45 riders took on the two lapper F1B/50 as the early s/westerly lifted for the later riders. Despite that, Andy Jackson, Team Swift, had high hopes of challenging Gethin Butler’s course record but his hopes were dashed due to a loose left crank arm after about 40 miles. On the bright side; better today than next week’s national 50.

Paul Gamlin, Northover Vets Team, prevailed with 1:47:36; ever consistent Ross Clarke, TMG Horizon CT was second with 1:49:35 and home club rider Gray Turnock returned in 1:51:14 for third spot. TMG Horizon CT are regular team winners and this event was no exception as Tony May and Steve Clarke supported Ross to a combined 5:52:59.
