Jessie Walker has signed a contract with UCI Team Servetto Footon to compete the rest of the 2015 season with the Swiss/Italian Team.

News – Jessie Walker signs for UCI Team

The 20 year old from Sheffield will move to the Team house in Piedmont in Italy at the end of the Tour Series. Her first two races will be the Giro del Trentino the 20th of June and the Giro Donne the 3rd of July.

Servetto Footon Women’s Pro Team was founded in 2013 from the professional men Team Footon Servetto.

Jessie Walker will be hoping to emulate the successes of her father Chris Walker, whom during his career won four professional races in Italy.

“So excited and looking forward to the next stage of my cycling career” Jessie Walker said. “I am over the moon to be joining Servetto Footon UCI Women’s Pro Team over in Asti, Italy. I’d like to say a massive thanks to Mauro Pizzol at Velosport Montegrappa for helping sorting this out and also Dario for giving me this mega opportunity”.

Dario Rossino, Team Manager said “We are happy to have in our team a talented British rider. We have been interested in the British cycling scene for a while and last year we gave the opportunity to a Velosport Montegrappa rider to guest ride for our Team. We believe that Jessie’s climbing skills will suit very well the type of racing we have in Europe. We were impressed by her enthusiasm and we are sure that she will do well”.
