Calum Croft of Primera-sport.com leads a 1-2 for his team in the Moreton Race Series in Dorset. Deadheat in the women’s race for Walby and White.

Report – Moreton Race Series Dorset

Croft Leads another Primera Double at Moreton, Walby& White in Dead Heat

Calum Croft & Jason Eastwood made it another one-two for Primera-sport.com in round 9 of the Moreton race series in Dorset. In a carbon copy finish of a few weeks ago the Primera boys showboated across the line with clear twilight between themselves and third place Jason Gault (Bournemouth Jubilee Wh). Gault, consistently in the top 5, waits for the Primera kick, more confidence in his own sprint perhaps a better tactic? James Horton (Primera-sport.com) grabbed another fourth place adding to the Primera celebrations. In 5th place, young Alex Hart (Sarum Velo) has impressed all series, his eagerness to pull on the front too often his undoing.

Adam Patchton (Unatt) is another knocking at the door, making 6th place his own, is there more to come? Roland Tilley, (Ridebike.co.uk) 7th ,another resident top ten finisher, has seen it all, the two time Southern Region Road Race champ is the wrong side of 50 but the competitive edge is as keen as it was.

Last week’s victor, Ryan Weston (Poole Wh) 8th, needs a hill to show his strengths but the 23 year old displays the required aggression to get results. Chris Gray (Gillingham & Dist Wh) & Darren Orchard (Mud Sweat n gears) rounded out the top ten on another glorious sunlit evening in the Dorset countryside.

In the preceding women’s race, the last in the series, Charmaine Walby (CC Weymouth) & Lora White (Ridebike. Co .uk) were inseparable on the line, despite Walby jumping her chain, as the judges declared a dead heat. White returns to her native Canada for the Whistler Ironman Triathlon in three weeks’ time, whilst Walby jumps straight back into the Open race, 10 minutes after the draw.
