Team News – NFTO head to Stockton

This weekend NFTO head North to Stockton for the Stockton Velo29-Altura Festival where they race the criterium on Friday and the Grand Prix on Sunday which they won in 2014 with Russell Downing.

Rhys Lloyd who rides for NFTO in 2015, was aggressive throughout the race in 2014 and took out the intermediate sprints competition after being in the break all day. When it looked like the break was going to get caught, he made a solo bid on the finishing circuit, only to be caught over the final kilometres.

NFTO go to Stockton, with many options and are hoping to animate the race. A lot of the team have been training hard in the lead up to the second half of the season that includes RideLondon and Tour of Britain. They also have a few of the younger riders joining the team again to get the experience at the top level races with some of the team that have been racing elite events all season.

The Sunday Premier level race is a combination of two circuits and NFTO are hoping to have good representation in the break and if as in previous years, it comes down to a sprint from a selection, then they will be counting on having Ian Bibby and Jonny McEvoy there in the finish.

The weekend will also see the return of ‘Hank’ (James Lowsley Williams) who has been training up a storm with Steele Von Hoff in a training camp in Girona. The racing in the North East will be good to test his form and shoulder after his injury at the Canary Wharf Tour Series.
