Rider List – Ryedale Grand Prix

The Ryedale Grand Prix, organised by the now British Cycling president Bob Howden, has been promoted annually since 2005 when it doubled as the National Road Race Championships (won by Russell Downing), a feature that has since been repeated on two other occasions in 2008 (Rob Hayles) and 2012 (Ian Stannard) with the latter year seeing the inaugural promotion on the Ampleforth Circuit that takes in the spectacular Abbey grounds.

This Sunday afternoon and the pro teams are expected to put out their A line ups for what many pros said last year was the hardest course/race of the national road race series.

The riders will cover three laps of the big circuit 13 miles and then five laps of the smaller circuit (just under 10 miles). Last year, Richard Handley and Mike Cuming (pictured above) dominated the race with Russell Downing coming in third. The race is shorter than the Stockton GP last Sunday but will see a lot less finishers!
