Bob Ford (UK Biking) took advantage of a generous handicapper and some mis -communication to win round 10 of the Moreton Race Series. The scratch group will feel aggrieved but few would begrudge 65 year old Ford his day in the setting July sun.

WIN

The chasers had caught the Ford group once but such was the handicap, a double catch was required and despite consistently lapping at 27 mph the gap was too big. Ford along with fellow veterans Matt Downer (Bournemouth Jubilee ), John Brian (Unatt) & lapped rider Gordon Scott(Chippenham & Dist) combined well together knowing they would stay away!

The fast boys did not know the Ford group were technically still ahead as Calum Croft (Primera-sport.com) & Alex Hart (Sarum Velo) took a flyer at the bell. The pair stayed away, with Croft comfortably winning the kick to the line, the flamboyant celebration however turned out to be for fourth place. Ford, by this time was on his cool down lap thinking about his £25 winners cheque and a golden night for the oldies!
