She will attempt to collect her second rainbow jersey of the championships when she returns for the road race on Saturday. Storey was delighted to win yet another world title. “It’s a massive relief to win. It was great to do three laps. Most of the para-cycling time-trials I’ve done have only been two laps so to get a 30 minute TT was really good. The year before Rio, to be putting time into your competitors is always good. That obviously shows that the training and preparation has gone well. Hopefully I’ll be able to retain this title in Rio next year.”

There were a number of other riders in action for the Great Britain Cycling Team this morning. Making their debut at world championship level, Megan Giglia and Hannah Dines came in fourth place in the women’s C3 and women’s T2 respectively, Simon Price came seventh in the men’s C2 race and Liz Saul came in ninth place in the women’s C4.”
