Since then, year on year it has grown to what we now know as NFTO -‐ the most successful cycling team on the UK Domestic Pro level. The NFTO Race Club still thrives, and now it’s time to give something back to the cycling world in the form of a closed road race.

We are going to bring a professional cycling event back to Hereford for the first time in 30 years and our aim is to make the race route Not For The Ordinary. This is the last big Road Race of the 2015 season; being held the weekend after the Tour of Britain concludes will ensure only the strongest riders will be competing for the win from the UK’s top professional domestic teams.

As part of the Herefordshire Festival of Sport, under British Cycling Rules and Regulations, we are proud to promote The Hitter Road Race; a 148km/91 mile road race on local roads in the Golden Valley of Herefordshire. The race will leave the HQ in Hereford to then pass through the villages of Clehonger, Madley, Bredwardine, Dorstone and Peterchurch twice for 2 large loops.

A 3rd, shorter loop, that encompasses the iconic Dorstone Hill, (11% 1.6km) at 25% in places and a mile long, will be the main climb and the biggest test on the undulating route before heading back towards Hereford for the finish. With the finish line set out for a bunch sprint, the teams will need to work together to keep the break at arms length throughout – if they are brave enough to let one go!
