News – Denbies Duels Hill Climb

Dorking and Redhill Cycling Clubs have joined together in organising the third Denbies Duels Hill Climb event in the traffic free grounds of Denbies WIne estate near Dorking and overlooking Box Hill.

This innovative event comprises five rounds, with head to head knock outs to decide the winner, with riders times for the climb only counting for the first stage of the event.

The course is slightly shorter than the iconic Box Hill ascent with slightly less altitude gained than the Zig Zag road, but is traffic free and an opportunity for riders to cycle somewhere normally closed to the road riding community.

There is a near £1,000 prize fund for the day and there are prizes for overall winner, ladies winner, team category and fastest Junior and Vet. Previous winners have been 2014 Dan Sullivan (Norwood Paragon), Maryka Sennema (Kingston Wheelers) and 2013 Matt Pilkington (Metaltek Knights of Old) and Deborah Percival (34 Nomads).
