News – Wattbike at Cycle Show
Wattbike is giving an exclusive sneak peek of its new training and workout powerapp and powerhub functionality at the Cycle Show at the Birmingham NEC (24th-27th September).
This new capability will expand and unify the Wattbike eco-system by seamlessly connecting both hardware and software and help take the guesswork out of training.
The new training functionality will enable users to browse and download both standalone workouts and multi-week training plans authored by Wattbike’s expert team, including Eddie Fletcher.
The new workouts will give the user real-time feedback on their actual vs. target performance, encouragement and advice. The expanded powerapp will also include a battery of tests to allow the system to take the guesswork out of training and heart rate zones by automatically setting the relevant heart rate and training zones of each workout for the user.
All the user just has to do is to open the powerapp and select the workout, press ‘start’ and ride. The new training functionality will include:
• Workouts – a standalone workout the user can choose to ride against immediately
• Training Plans – a multi-week plan made up of workouts and tests
• Tests – tests used to calculate FTP, MMP, MHR, the famous Wattbike 6-second test and more to calculate a user’s specific metrics
All the Wattbike data streams are included, such as the unique Polar View to help users hone their pedalling technique. The system will also send push notifications to the user’s smartphone every day of a training plan to remind them what the day’s session is, or if they should just relax and put their feet up on a rest day.
To find out more and to experience the training powerapp and powerhub functionality for yourself, visit us at the Cycle Show on stand A43.
