This year, The Tour of Spain was once again on the door step of CHS with Stage 9 which was 168.3 km, Torrevieja to Cumbre del Sol Benitatxell.

This stage saw Tom Dumoulin (Giant Alpecin) claim back the Tour of Spain’s red jersey with a brilliant display of strength on the Puig Llorenca climb crowning the 9th stage of the Vuelta in which he outclassed Chris Froome (Sky) and Joaquim Rodriguez (Katusha).

CHS

The Dutchman, who held the Vuelta lead for one day in Vejer de la Frontera, made it back to the top thanks to three blistering attacks in the last ascent, dropping most of the favourites.
