Team News – Nuun-Sigma Sport 2016
Following a third successful season, London’s brand focused road and track racing team adds firepower for the 2016 season.
Joining an experienced road and track squad, three riders join from local rivals Pedal Heaven, adding strength and a huge amount of experience in former Regional Road Race Champion Chris McNamara, Jamie Pine, a previous Hillingdon Winter Series winner and current South East Road Race Champion Rob Moore.
The road team is also bolstered by the addition of the talented local young rider Lawrence Carpenter who has made waves both regionally and nationally racing for Catford – Banks. The final addition is Tom Hargreaves joining from London Dynamo CC, who, with numerous wins in 2015, brings fresh enthusiasm and talent to both the road and track programme.
“Through passion and hard work we have represented our London-based and international sponsors, demonstrating that we can compete at a high level whilst maintaining full-time jobs and family lives,†explained team director Cameron Fraser.
“We were flattered to receive a number of applications from the UK and further afield to join the team however true to our ethos we are very pleased to have retained and attracted some of the finest talent in the London area. This enables us to better promote those local brands who choose to support us in participating in a sport we all love.â€
“Over the last 12-months we have put our sponsors in the media spotlight both on the road and on the track with starts at the televised Peal Izumi Tour Series in Canary Wharf and at Sir Wiggins’ Hour Record at Lee Valley Velodrome,†Fraser added. “These are just two of a large number of events that have put our brand in the public eye and we look forward to going the extra mile again in 2016, motivated by the messages of support we receive from our supportersâ€
The team’s focus for the coming season will remain on participating in a number of high profile road and track events that attract the biggest crowds thereby increasing visibility and return on investment for its sponsors.
The team are looking forward to racing at international and televised events such as the Tour Series, London Nocturne, Rutland – Melton International CiCLE Classic and the Good Friday International track meeting.
Leading sports hydration brand Nuun remains joint-title sponsor alongside Sigma Sport, the award winning independent cycle retailer based in Kingston-upon-Thames whose lasting commitment to the sport in the UK continues for yet another year.
Throughout the season insurance support will be provided by the competitive products offered by Pro-Cycle Insurance who will cover the team’s fleet of bikes and travel insurance requirements.

Nuun-Sigma Sport-London is also proud to announce continued sponsorship support from Rockstar Games, whose passion and commitment to cycling is also reflected in their sponsorship of the Red Hook Criterium fixed gear racing series.
Cannondale will once again be providing the team’s race, training and track bicycles, with Mavic, Castelli, Fabric, Stages Cycling and Oakley providing the balance of technical equipment for the coming season. Core to supporting the process of equipment support is Sigma Sport.
Supporting the team is an impressive line up of service sponsors. The experts at Train Sharp Cycle Coaching will be providing training plans, maximizing valuable spare time between work and family, complemented by Chiro. London who will provide expert advice on health and well being from chiropractic care, muscle imbalance and core strength.
Big Yellow Self Storage comes on board to provide safe and secure flexible storage for the teams’ equipment for the coming season while Getbuzzing will help fuel riders with their 100% natural energy.
The team would like to thank departing riders Wouter Sybrandy and James Holland-Leader for their commitment and dedication over their respective seasons.
