2014_Reservoir_Stage2_027

1. With your team all sorted for 2016, what races are you looking forward to most next season?
Evan: I always look forward to the Tour of the Reservoir as I have always done well there. I’m also looking forward to the Nationals in 2016 as I like the Stockton circuit.

2. What were your highlights in 2015?
Evan: The biggest one was my second son being born. Winning the Grand Prix road series as well as I had a slow start to the season after illness in the winter.

3. What race was the most fun in 2015 and why?
Evan: I really enjoyed the 2015 Tour of Britain. There was a great atmosphere all week and one stage was local for me.

4. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given and who gave it to you?
Evan: One was ‘Do all your suffering while training alone then at the races you have time to enjoy’ from Jason Macintyre. Another was “when you’re going well, don’t waste it out training, save it for the races’ – Rob Hayles.

5. Tell us about your winter training bike, what is different about it compared to your race bike?
Evan: I use the same Raleigh Militis training bike all year round. I just attach mudguards for the winter.

6. Finally, how will you spend December on the bike – at home or abroad.
Evan: I will spend the first two weeks of December in Lanzarote with the family on holiday and training. Then, for the second two weeks over Xmas, I can chill a bit more but will be including some gym work and a bit of track.
