Xmas Feature – Natalie Grinczer

1. What races are you looking forward to most next season and why?
Natalie: This year I am riding for Team WNT and we are targeting some European races which will be totally new for me. I love stage racing so hopefully I can gain much more experience this year.

2. What were your highlights in 2015?
Natalie: Highlights of 2015 would have to be winning the Bedford 3 day mid-season and then winning the Time Trial stage of the An Post Ras na mBan in September. Considering the competition there, it was a great result and I ended up 4th on GC.

3. What race was the most fun in 2015 and why?
Natalie: Again, the Ras na mBan has been my favourite race for a long time. It was my first taste of a longer stage race outside of the UK. A lot can happen in a bike race over five days and a stage is never over until it’s over. I always find the conditions and terrain are well suited to my riding style.

4. What’s the best piece of cycling related advice you’ve ever been given?
Natalie ‘It’s only a bike race’ … is the best piece of advice I have been given by many people on multiple occasions and a good reality check.

5. Tell us about your winter training bike, what is different about it compared to your race bike?
Natalie …we won’t talk about the winter bike!

6. How will you spend December on the bike?
Natalie: December on the bike for me will be a combination of long miles and strength and conditioning sessions. I will be in the UK so will be getting really hardy to all winds and weathers! But definitely looking forward to a training camp abroad in the Spring.

7. Cheeky Xmas one – if you could have any cycling related Xmas present – what would it be!
Natalie: If Santa could bring me some more Specialized S Works road shoes that would be great! Actually a snow and ice free winter would be even better!

Thank you Natalie, good luck for 2016!
