News – Jon Tiernan-Locke to Return to Racing

Winner of the Tour of Britain in 2012 but then banned for two years for a ‘biological passport’ violation is set to return to racing according to an article in the Herald Express.

Tiernan-Locke, who has never failed a drug test and always denied that he ever took performance-enhancing substances, is waiting for a racing licence from British Cycling before getting back into the cycling scene with one of his goals said to be a local event for him, the Primavera Road Race, based at Hatherleigh, on Sunday, February 28.

“I am looking forward to bumping into people I haven’t seen since I last rode at this level six or seven years ago” he said the Herald Express. “I want to enjoy racing again, first and foremost, see what sort of form I’m in and then take it from there.”

Tiernan-Locke is said not to be racing for many of the major teams at this point in time.
