1. When will you start your road season and what will be the first race?
Tristan: I don’t officially have a start date to my season but I am hopeful of getting a ride at the tour of Normandy before the Premier Calendar starts.

2. What races will be your targets for 2016 and why?
Tristan:
As for personal targets I would like to get a good ride at the national champs (u23) although I’m more focused on being able to support the team through the season and hopefully get success that way instead of chasing personal goals.

3. How will you spend the time on the bike between now and your first race in training? Long miles or cutting back to do top end efforts?
Tristan:
At the moment I’m doing long rides, turbo sessions and a bit of track work so it’s really a case of working on everything.

4. What was your favorite Xmas present?
Tristan:
That would have to be a new wallet that I was given by my girlfriend, although I’m very jealous of my sister who got a Carrot onesie.

5. When it rains, which its doing a lot right now, is it turbo time or wrap up and get wet? (if the latter, what’s your favourite tip to stay dry in the rain)
Tristan:
Only one thing to do in that situation; man up and go out. Doing anything over an hour on the turbo is too much for me, so I just go out and get wet. My best tip for staying dry is to invest in a good rain jacket – I’ve got a really nice Madison Apex jacket to keep me warm.

6. If you could do any race in the world including the best ones in the world etc, what would it be and why?
Tristan:
For me that would have to be the Olympic road race. Last year I was lucky enough to be selected to ride the test event in Rio and it’s an awesome course with a bit of everything in: steep bergs, cobbles and long climbs. It’s also great to finish your race and get straight on Copacabana beach!

7. What piece of food can you not do without where ever you are on the road during the season?
Tristan:
I don’t really have a specific piece of food I can’t go without, but I do end up eating a lot of energy products, fortunate the SIS ones we use taste good so it’s not too bad.

8. What is your favourite music track when warming up for a race or on the turbo?
Tristan:
At the moment I’m listening to quite a lot of house music (which is strange as if I go out I can’t stand the stuff). Currently on my turbo playlist is Tame Impala – “Let it happen”, Martin Garrix & Jay Hardway – “Wizard” and Lindsey Sterling – “Shatter Me”.

9. If given the option, would you prefer normal brakes or disc brakes on your road bike?
Tristan:
For the moment I’d like to stick to rim brakes, but I recently got a Genesis High Latitude MTB with hydraulic disks and I’m impressed, so as soon as they become common in the peloton I’ll gladly make the switch.

10. What’s the spec of your race bike for 2016 and your favourite bits on it? (include a pic or two if you have them!)
Tristan:
This year I will be riding the new Genesis Zero Z.i with Dura Ace Di2 and a Pro carbon finishing kit topped off with a set of Dura Ace C50 wheels.

11. Your highlights were in 2015 and how you spent December on the bike
Tristan:
My highlights of 2015 would have to be doing the Olympic test event in Rio. It was amazing to be leading out Ben Swift shoulder to shoulder with Thibaut Pinot. I also really enjoyed winning the U23 category at the London 6 day which was made especially rewarding as I had 3 weeks off prior to it only finding out I was riding the day beforehand meaning I met my madison partner for the first time on the day. As for December I was mainly getting in the miles and occasionally going to the track behind the motorbike or throwing in a turbo session.
