Rider Chat: Paul Caton Q & A

1. When will you start your road season and what will be the first race?
Paul: March and the LVRC Baines race at Towcester

2. What races will be your targets for 2016 and why?
Paul: The South West Sporting TT Series, LVRC and BC RR Champs, World Track Champs, Central or Eastern Cyclo Cross League, Toachmin/PS LVRC RR Series, MK Bowl crits, HH evening 10’s – because I can’t get enough!

3. How will you spend the time on the bike between now and your first race in training?
Paul: Cyclo Cross, Track League at London Velodrome, endurance rides, turbo and road intervals

4. What was your favourite Xmas present?
Paul: The one to myself – a pair of Red & White Sidi Vernice shoes

5. When it rains, which its doing a lot right now, is it turbo time or wrap up and get wet?
Paul: If it’s really raining and cold then the turbo and Zwift otherwise my New TMG Aquaviva jersey and pro vision bib tights keep me dry.



6. If you could do any race in the world including the best ones in the world etc, what would it be and why?
Paul: Tour of Flanders – hard, iconic, long, love it.

7. What piece of food can you not do without where ever you are on the road during the season!
Paul: Porridge and or bananas

8. What is your favourite music track when warming up for a race or on the turbo?
Paul: None – deep thought and play out race scenarios

9. If given the option, would you prefer normal brakes or disc brakes on your road bike?
Paul: Disc brakes are awesome but only if everyone has them

10. What’s the spec of your race bike for 2016 and your favourite bits on it?
Paul: Same as last year and the year before – two bikes in case one is damaged with a mixture of SRAM Red, Shimano Ultegra/Dura Ace, and many wheels. It’s a tool and it has little to do with the result …
