Mountain Bike Racing & Preparation for Next Season.

At the weekend, Jody Crawforth travelled to nearby Surrey to race round 1 of the Gorrick Spring Series. He got off to a good start and rode as part of a five strong group in the first few laps.

“The pace was comfortable, but having had a couple of hard weeks training I wasn’t particularly keen on raising the pace too much! I was confident on the technical sections but suffered slightly on a few of the steep climbs. I finished 2nd overall and only 4 seconds behind the leader which i’m really pleased with”. – Jody Crawforth.

No racing for Ian Field this weekend, but it wasn’t all soft time! He did a 10km hill walk in the very hilly Yorkshire dales. “Plans for the coming few weeks are to rest and recharge the batteries. Then the training starts all over again for next season. The summer will consist of some mountain bike racing and a fair bit of road racing as I look to change things for next season”. – Ian Field
