Result – Women’s Team Series Redbridge
by Jon Miles.
The Women’s Team Series started at the Redbridge circuit on Saturday with a fast attacking race that was a credit to all who took part. With so many newly named teams starting the season proper it took a few laps to get used to the jersey designs but again notable at the front were Army Cycle Race Team and Liv-Epic Coaching but the stand out jersey was worn by British Circuit Race Champion Nicola Juniper, Eco Ford, Nicola was active the whole race long winning both race primes.

As always expected on this difficult circuit the race was gong to finish in a bunch sprint and so it was with Elizabeth Bennet, Liv CC-Epic Coaching getting the better of Juniper; Bennet also led the winning team with Lauren Dolan making third place.
New team Liv CC-Epic Coaching have now set the standard winning their first major race as a new team and we all look forward to another exciting Team Series, the next race will be on 3 April at Virginia Water organised by the Twickenham CC.
Charlotte Broughton gave us her view of the race. “Today was the first time Our team Ford Eco Boost showed our kit, there were only three of us today, obviously with Nicola being in the British Champions jersey and everyone looking at us as the new kids on the block, we had to play it tactically as everyone would be looking at the Champions stripes.
I knew that Nicola and I would be strong in the sprint so we pushed it on with Nicky winning the primes and in the final I led her out for a full lap as I know how this course can be, you can be swallowed up so quickly. We kept the pace high as I hate it when in the last lap it all slows up , it is really negative, so I decided to keep the pace going. Happy for Nicky so now the scene is set for the rest of the Team Series”
