1/2/3 for the St Piran team as Jon Tiernan Locke wins the Tavistock Wheelers 2 stage Brentor Road Race

Results: Brentor Road Race

Better weather than predicted met riders competing in the 2 stage Tavistock Wheelers Brentor Road race, which is part of a series sponsored by Velo-smith.com. A short but 5% incline Time Trial was the first stage, with local rider Huw Richards of Tavistock Wheelers North Shore Gallery took the win, in 3.35 minutes, followed by Dexter Hurlock of Kibosh and Jonathon Tiernan Locke of St Piran Less than 10 seconds separated the first 4 riders

On to the road race and the story was about constant attacks from the St Piran team, with Jake Alderman active from the start , forming a 4 rider break that maintained a minute or so gap for the majority of the 50 mile race; towards the end this group fractured, with Tiernan Locke joining Alderman in the break and Duncan Heywood coming through the other riders in the break to complete a podium 1/2/3 for the St Piran team

Meanwhile in the bunch a tactical race was going on for the Series prizes; Dextor Hurlock took the series Yellow Jersey from Huw Richards, whilst roles were reversed for the points Green Jersey. Steve Sage (Tanks Direct) won the Veterans Black Jersey By getting in the early break and maintaining a gap over the bunch until the end Ryan Dunn (CS Dynamo) won the White Junior Jersey Charlie Beake (Tri UK) won the best 3rd /4th Cat prize.
