Further line-ups confirmed for Aviva Women’s Tour
Top Dutch sprinter Kirsten Wild will make her Aviva Women’s Tour debut this June, heading the list of the latest riders to be confirmed for the first British round of the UCI Women’s WorldTour.
The four-time winner of the Ladies Tour of Qatar recently won the final stage of the Amgen Tour of California, also a UCI Women’s WorldTour event, and also won on her appearance at the Women’s Tour de Yorkshire in April plus two stages of the Energiewacht Tour.
Wild, who is a World Champion on the track in the Scratch Race, will lead the Hitec Products team, who return to the race after a year’s absence and also include 2009 World Champion Tatiana Guderzo, Simona Frapporti, sixth overall in the 2015 Aviva Women’s Tour, and 2015’s Oceanic Road Race Champion Lauren Kitchen.
Alé Cipollini will be led by 2007 World Champion Marta Bastianelli and reigning Polish Road Race Champion Małgorzata Jasińska, along with Giro Rosa stage winner Annalisa Cucinotta and multiple Swedish champion Emilia Fahlin.
The Parkhotel Valkenberg team will replace the Astana squad in the Aviva Women’s Tour line-up, bringing an all-Dutch roster to the race led by promising youngster Jip van den Bos, who has recently won the Best Young Rider classification at the Tour of Chongming Island UCI Women’s WorldTour event and the Euskal Emakumeen Bira race in Spain.
