Team Press Release
Firstly, the sponsors, the team and all of its riders would like to extend their thanks to Marc Clothier for all of his hard work since the teams inception nearly ten years ago. In addition to starting the team, Marc was responsible for all behind the scenes work , as well as racing himself in the green and black.
Without the hard work and effort that Marc has put in there would be no team for us to represent. Thank you Marc!
From the 1st June, Paul Barnard, current team rider, has stepped up to combine racing with a role of Directeur Sportif. This will give the team fresh impetus and will focus on improved organisation behind the scenes. Paul had this to say: “Marc has done a fantastic job in running the team for the length of time that he has done. I would like to express my deepest thanks to him and all of those that have supported him during this time”.
“Moving forward, the team has grown since it was first started and the sport is also ever growing and changing too. In order to keep progressing and to give that all important return on investment, that is so vital to our fantastic sponsors, the team needs a more joined up approach, this is where I can hopefully add value. Things have already moved forward in the background in the last month, since it was asked that I come on board in this capacity.”
Paul goes onto say “First and foremost the team are good friends, who enjoy racing together and although train and race hard, they are all balancing racing around full time jobs, family life and other factors away from cycling. This being said we still owe it to the sponsors to be a committed and organised team that are going to be well represented at the Regional and National B level races locally, that are important for promoting brand awareness of those investing in the team”.
Paul, the riders and our sponsors are all excited about the future of the team and the changes that we are already seeing. Plans are well in place to finish the second half of the season strongly and to build on this going into 2017. Although traditionally the team have promoted within, we are always happy to consider riders from outside of the existing club/team set up as well. Please feel free to get in touch with Paul Barnard directly via Facebook.
