Nikki Juniper outsprints Sarah Storey for the victory in the Women’s Curlew Cup

Nikki Juniper won a nail biting sprint against Dame Sarah Storey to win the Curlew Cup.

Juniper was one of the driving forces in a group of four riders who had broken away from the rest of the seventy strong field on the first of three ascents of the Ryals climb. Along with Juniper, in the break were Dame Sarah Storey, former GB rider on the track Claire Rose and youngster Alice Cobb (all pictured above).

The chase behind never let up and it was touch and go whether it was going to end in a bunch kick or not but the four leaders stayed clear before there was a big sprint for 5th place.
