Continuing his recent run of good form, Jack Monaghan rode away from the field to score his sixth win of the series in the novices class. Jasper Whalley held off the fast finishing Lucas Wootton to claim the runners-up spot and Daniel Coates kept James Cope at bay for fourth. Austin Baglow pipped Jackson Roberts and Harvey Wagstaffe for sixth, with Isla Mulholland edging out Evie Lund to take the girls’ prize in ninth spot. Newcomer Dominick Rogalewski did well to finish a very creditable 19th on his debut.

In the born 2011 & later age group Carter Kneale got the better of eight times winner Finbar McSevney to bag maximum points for the second week in succession. Bobby Kewley outran leading girl Abigail Cowell for third and Dylan Honeyman beat Bobby Kerruish, Charlie Dormer and Erin Morgan in the dash for fifth. Poppy Clayton led Cameron Eyres, Joshua Moffitt, Joel Prentice and Samuel Kinnish home for ninth, while Eva Pavlova overcame Antony Aspell in the bunch gallop for 14th.

Brad Le Geyt got the verdict over Kylan Murphy in the race for the honours at the end of the born 2010 category. Stanley Kinnish and Conor Madsen-Mygdal were a safe third and fourth, with Harrison Skillen heading chasers Liam Blake, Archie Mulholland and Lula Kinnish in for fifth. Daniel Minay and Ffinlo Thomas came in separately to complete the top ten leader board.

Cameron Hounsell had to pull out all the stops to gain the victory in the born 2009 race. Top girl May-Saa Smith held the advantage with the chequered flag in sight but a last ditch effort from Hounsell secured the win. Tom Pickavance and Eddie Dillon were just behind in third and fourth places, while Zach Jones and Matthew Hooper maintained station in fifth and sixth positions. Jonah Kenny outgunned Harry Beattie, Ethan Edge and Abi Clayton in the group rush for seventh.

Alec Sorby broke away from a six-strong leading bunch to claim a fine solo win in the born 2008 category. Freddie Griffin ousted Charlie Williams, T.J.Teare, Joel Long and Fearne Bregazzi in the sprint for second, leaving George Kinnish behind to lead the rest of the field home in seventh spot. Deaglan Blake, Ryan Nelson and Lewis Quirk rounded off the top ten.

Retaining his unbeaten record for a further week, Cian Howard outsprinted breakaway companions Orry Lund, Jordan Carter and Charlie Scarffe to seal the win in the born 2007 event. First girl Florence Griffin got past Rio Kelly on the finish straight to claim fifth and Jess Pickavance came from behind to snatch seventh from Jemma Quayle. James Kinrade was a lonely ninth and Thomas Monaghan beat Ben Davies and Charles Boyd to the line for tenth.

In the born 2006 class Owen Collins forged ahead of fellow escapee Ivan Sorby to take the victory. Nicola Quaye and Samuel Devereau were unchallenged in third and fourth respectively, with Sophie Smith edging out Nathan Kinrade for fifth. In the following born 2005 & earlier grouping Jonty Bregazzi took the honours in a frantic sprint with Dylan Sewell. James Devereau was third closely followed by Nathan Slack, Frank Kinnish and Callum Salisbury. James Scott was seventh and Ella Griffin the best girl in eighth spot.

Owen Collins, Ivan Sorby and Drystan Sewell filled the top three podium positions in the gallop that decided the outcome of the combined under-8 and under-10 racing bikes. Alec Sorby headed chasers Orry Lund and Charlie Scarffe to the finish for fourth, with Rio Kelly leading Sophie Smith, Nicola Quaye, Joel Long and Tom Caine home for seventh.

With breakaway expert Zac Walker on holiday in France, the under-12’s racing bikes event was wide open. A group of seven frontrunners eventually contested the finish with Ralph Holden taking the win ahead of Niall Colquitt, Tyler Annis, James Devereau, Kiera Prentice, Cameron Dudley and Frank Kinnish. Mairi Harrison, Oliver Corkish, James Scott, Harley Howland-Smith and Callum Salisbury wrapped up the result sheet.

Thomas Bostock and Will Draper escaped together in the under-16 racing bikes and were never seen again. At the finish it was Bostock who came out on top in the surge for the chequered flag . A group of five riders gave chase but were unable to close the gap to the two leaders. Ben Christian won the sprint for third from Tosh Teare, Adam Scarffe, Will Corkill and Aaron Lund. The first girl was Ellen Barker in 15th position.  … continued after advert
