Carl Donaldson of GS Metro wins his clubs memorial to Andy Mallen who died in the French Alps 12 months ago

Carl Donaldson (GS Metro) won his clubs Open Hilly 26 Mile Time Trial on Saturday 30th July 2016. The event is a memorial event to popular club member Andy Mallen who tragically lost his life in a cycling accident in the French Alps 12 months ago.
Donaldson was scratch man in a 60 rider field and SCORCHED round the hilly 26 mile parcours in 57’36 to lop 96 seconds of the Course Record set 12 months earlier by club mate Danny Grieves in the same event. Second place went to promising Espoir rider Tim Wilcock also of the promoting club GS Metro whom also went under the previous record by 1 second.
Third place went to wily old veteran Shaun Tyson (Adept Precision) a further second behind Wilcock. Charlotte Cooper (GS Metro) was fastest lady, GS Metro also took the team prize. Colin Atkinson (EMC) was fastest roadman.
