Many teams sent their apologies for not being able to attend this very popular road race due to being at Ride London and past winners include Jon Dibben and Rhys Lloyd.

This didn’t stop those that did turn up from making it a brutally hard race from the outset. With tough climbs and fast descents as featured in the Ryedale Grand Prix, the 77 miles were ticked off very quickly indeed.

It wasn’t until later in the race that an established break got away with Adam Kenway (who would finish 3rd) and Joseph Clark (4th) putting over a minute into a chasing group. It wasn’t until the last lap that it came back together on the eleventh passing of the fearsome Milking Hill and the eventual winner would become apparent. A superb event favoured by the elite riders.
