Result: RTTC 25 Championships (Men)

Ryan Perry, the defending champion, was fastest in the 2016 Edition of the RTTC blue ribbon championship, the 25. On a day when the win was strong and getting stronger through the morning, some of the top riders were using a 58 chainring to good effect on the way out before tucking down and holding on for a long stretch into the cross headwind.

Not confident of winning beforehand, and even less so when he heard he was as much as 20 seconds down, Perry’s head may have fallen but it never fell off totally and he managed to scrape the victory by three seconds to Richard Bussell with Kieron Davies in third.

As I don’t know most of the riders, apologies of any of the following are in correct!

1st, with a 58 chainring, Ryan Perry – second 25 title.

Second, Richard Bussell, also using a 58 and only three seconds away from the win. Gutted.

Third, Kieron Davies, final major championship of the year with a new baby to look after at home.

4th, Matt Clinton, always close or on the podium and today no exception. 55 chain ring not beig enough for the tailwind today.
