“I don’t get that many chances to race at home so it’s good and I’m really looking forward to the race. The form I think has dragged over well and I have more confidence after the Tour de France. I am quite relaxed as well and anything I do now and to the end of the year is a bonus. It’s a nice way to race.”

Asked how he and Adam will work together, both being fast sprinters, Dan replied “We’ve not discussed it so we’ll see how it goes. I think a lot of the stages are tough so there will be plenty of time to find out if you’re on for one or not. A lot of the stages have a possibility of ending in a sprint with a lot of climbing before but the back end of them is not always so hard.”

“I did a stage race in France before this over four days where the temperatures were 37 degrees so that was a change and then did GP Plouay on Sunday and it was okay. I just came up short of making the front group on the last climb but it was the first time I’ve raced a one day past 200k and it was good to see I still had something left in my legs after 250k.”

Good luck to Dan in the Tour of Britain
