Record Entries cause a few changes for 2016 UCI Masters World Track Championships

A record 550 entries from 31 countries is the best ever and has caused some organisational changes to the venue. In order to accommodate the increase in track centre spaces for the competitors the central warm up area will not be available and riders should be aware of this and where possible bring their own rollers for warm ups.

It would also be helpful if the UK riders can assist those coming in to the country for the event who may not be able to do this. The racing schedule has also increased and the amended version is on the event web site along with the latest list of competitors.

Some interesting facts and figures for the planned programme are 200 sprint qualifying time trials, 267 sprint matches, 191 pursuit heats, 155 time trials, 32 points races, 33 scratch races (including the Brian Cossavella Memorial), two hour record attempts, plus team pursuit and team sprint competitions for both men and women. And in order to celebrate the winners 77 Victory Ceremonies are needed.

Spectator Tickets are still available both on line and at the venue, either in advance or on the day, and are good value at just £8 per day (£5 for concessions)

You can also watch it live with internet coverage of all the main sessions coming to you on You Tube.

Full championships information with daily results and pictures can be found on the event web site www.cyclingmasters.com
