Post Race Chat: Jack Pullar

One of the surprise weapons at Monsal last Sunday was a Dolan fixie ridden by Jack Pullar of Pedal Heaven RT. He admitted that he had no form so decided he’ll use a fixed and won’t lose anything.

“I’ve wanted to do it on a fixed the last few years but it’s a risk getting that gear right. I knew what Malc (Malcolm Elliott) had done in previous years so I went a gear smaller but it was still massive! It felt good on the lower bit but then I got to the crowd and could not go any harder. It was horrible!”

Jack explained how he hadn’t raced for a month before Monsal. “With all the stuff with teams that’s going on at the moment, I haven’t ridden much. It’s hard to get motivated when you haven’t got anything sorted. Hopefully in the next few weeks I’ll have some good news”.

“It’s pretty crap at the moment. Potentially two teams worth of riders at the moment who just don’t know what they are doing. I am pretty sure something good will happen…. I have loved this season with Pedal Heaven and I really want to be on a UCI team next season for sure but not sure if it will happen”.

Asked what his highlight of the season was, he replied “probably second at Ryedale and at second at the Tour Series. I don’t seem to be able to get a win though! I’m getting there so hopefully next year!”
