Walker, who’s been a professional rider for two years in Italy, has assisted two riders during her career to the Gold medal and the coveted rainbow jersey at the Road Race World Championships with Lucy Garner taking the junior title in 2012 and Lizzie Deignan (nee Armitstead) taking the elite women’s title in 2015 in Richmond.

“I’m thrilled to join Team WNT as a soigneur. I’ve recently announced I’m taking a break from racing, so this was the perfect opportunity to bring my experience as a bike rider to the team. It’s a very impressive set-up at Team WNT with so much support in many different aspects. I am looking forward to exploring a different side to cycling than I’ve experienced before, behind the scenes of bike racing” says Jessie.

“I’ll also be on hand throughout the year to help give guidance and advice to riders from my experience as a rider, especially in races which I’ve raced during my career”.

22-year-old Jessie, who’s had a top 20 results in the Giro d’Italia Internazionale Femminile and The Women’s Tour has had access to some of the best soigneurs in the cycling world. Tony Pennington, WNT UK Managing Director says “I believe having Jessie on board for 2017 is an important step for our team, bringing youth, experience and fresh ideas to the squad, as well as inspiring some of our younger riders on the team”.
