Alexander: Rollers for the Track and Road Races and Turbo for TT Racing and always with music.

10. Will you stay in the UK to prepare for next season during the winter or get in a training camp or two abroad to get in some serious miles?
Alexander: I am off to Spain in February with some of the North East Hitters but a lot of Track work will come before that.

11. When will you start training for 2017 and what comes first – long steady miles or a mix of miles and efforts?
Alexander: Mostly Track work doing Kilo and Team Pursuit practice combined with fairly long road rides and Roller Sprints.

12. What are the goals for 2017?
Alexander: To improve as a rider and capitalise on all the great coaching I have had. Early season will be the British Track Championships in Manchester at the end of January.

13. Does winter training consist only of riding the bike or running/swimming/gym work (cross training)
Alexander: Yes, only on the bike and sleeping a lot does you no harm either!

14. Finally, what have you learnt over the years to best deal with the winter months on a bike!
Alexander: Just make sure you do it and try and eat some hot Porridge before you go out and if you can afford it buy a Goretex Rain Jacket and Overshoes and mudguards are a must.
