National Trophy Winner for young riders, Charlie Craig has died after passing away in his sleep

In a short statement on Facebook, his father Nick, made a short statement, “Yesterday our world fell apart. Our beautiful lovely little boy Charlie went to sleep but never woke up. I don’t know what else to write just now but he will be with his little angel niece.”

I am sure everyone will agree it is impossible to comprehend just what a tragic loss the Craig family suffered but for sure, Charlie was a well respected and just one of the most lovely young men you could possibly meet. And the image of Nick and Charlie to together in yellow at a National trophy will be one I will treasure in memory of the youngster.

Following the message from Nick announcing Charlies untimely death, a steady stream of tributes from the grassroots to the stars of the cycling world for the young man have followed and I know from the amount of views of the message on VeloUK’s Facebook page that his passing has touched so many people. Charlie may be lost to the world but his memory will live on in all us.
